‘Paddle for peace’ organized in the Kashmir valley

The youths from Jammu and Kashmir participated enthusiastically in a cycle rally called paddle for peace. The race was flagged off from the Nehru Park in Srinagar by the advisor of the Lt Governor. In the sub-junior group children below the age of 12 years participated.

On the Occasion, Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha was also present who while addressing the participants said these type of events give a message of peace to the people in the valley.

“The paddle for peace is not just a cycle race but through it, a foundation for peace, happiness, and brotherhood is being laid down. The effort is to spread the message of love in the valley. These types of events are regularly organized with innovative ideas for lasting peace in the valley,” said Sinha

Sinha who took oath as the second Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on 7 August 2020 has been actively taking steps to promote peace in the valley.

He has been personally involved in the development of the valley. Recently he chaired a meeting with senior officials of the Union Territory for the beautification of Dal lake in Srinagar.

Kashmir has been facing the problem of cross-border terrorism for several decades which has derailed the development in the valley. But after the abrogation of article 370 and making Jammu and Kashmir a UT, the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking to develop the valley fast.
