Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a mega virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence Raise 2020 today which will see the participation of AI experts from around the world.
“Technology has transformed our workplaces and has improved connectivity. Time and again technology has helped us solve key challenges. The merger between social responsibility and AI will enrich the AI with a human touch. AI is a tribute to human intellectual power. The power to think and enable humans to make tools and technologies” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while inaugurating a mega virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence.
This is the first of its kind meeting of the global minds on artificial intelligence to drive India’s vision for social transformation, inclusion, and empowerment in areas like health care, agriculture, education, and smart mobility.
The event organized by the Government of India and NITI Aayog will witness robust participation from global industry leaders, key opinion makers, government representatives, and academia over a period of four days.
Over the days’ summit will feature some of the most exciting startups working in artificial intelligence-related fields.
“It is a conference that has participants from over 120 countries that will involve the top stalwarts from the AI world. It will be a conference with 43 sessions with 220 speakers from 125 countries. All the top AI practitioners and policymakers will be participating in it,” said Amitabh Kant, CEO, Niti Aayog ahead of the inauguration.
“The kind of talent that we have, we see an opportunity before ourselves. This conference will see the participation of some of the finest experts from the field of technology and AI not only from India but from across the globe,” said Ajay Sahni, Secretary, MEITY hours before the start of the summit.
The summit will discuss many subjects including leveraging AI for pandemic preparedness, the impetus that AI places on the digitization, inclusive AI, and partnership for successful innovation.
Industry analyst predicts that AI could add up to $957 billion to India’s economy by 2035.
The event will facilitate an exchange of ideas to create mass awareness about the need to ethically develop and practice AI.
